petition for candidates and candidates in the forthcoming elections

: "Dear candidate, candidate care we propose to think about the slogans and the language we use in election campaign as well as the policies that we propose and committed. The language does not communicate only content but also reveals the way of seeing reality, and we do not want that misunderstood by those who will vote.
We ask you to renew Your way to contact the electorate by referring explicitly to women not only to men begin to talk to voters and electrical systems, to send a message to citizens and towns, inviting people and not just men. Women are no longer outside the door of the polling station: on the contrary, are increasingly participating in public life and that is why their presence should be made visible through language.
The challenge that we propose is cultural, but also profoundly political: it is time to go beyond a vague and allusive language in which the 'man' represents both the masculine and the whole human race, to get to a language of real words that indicate a non-unique individual to whom they refer. The new behavior
language that we ask you to take can be a great opportunity for change through individual awareness, the current model of society and to experiment with possible solutions for the benefit of us all and everyone. With this note you want to open with a frank, practical and effective. We hope that your campaign will involve and promote the many women's minds active for years in different fields and can be protagonists of innovative ways to build a better city and active citizenship. What we teach in school?

A parte * * Illuminat no teachers in the course of history have bravely defied the rules imposed ... still ... alas! :-( The rules of the language, like many others, have been fabricated and regulated by a patriarchal and androcentric.
Some of these have already been disrupted by the feminist movement, others, like this one on the use of language not yet. .. but we're working hard!

PS A school may not have taught you that you do not say "me me"? ;-)

What Is The Best Scooter Wheel

Venice - "Women, Language and Language Policy"

Normal Report of operating: Women, Language and Language Policy "

Venice, 28-29 January 2010.

On days 28 and 29 January as part of action taken by the Equal Opportunities Committee (EOC) at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, a meeting was held operating on "Women, Language and Language Policy",

for the creation of a permanent study group on the use of Italian a gender perspective. "

meeting was attended by women of different origins and training (teachers, academics from various fields of research, including linguists and philosophers of language, librarians, staff of Public Administration, publishers, journalists, doctors, and students), each of which has brought its experience and has made proposals to

spread the knowledge of good practices already in place in many parts of the country, to sensitize the media on the need to properly make visible the presence of women in all spheres of Italian society, to promote the official adoption of the use of the female gender for the institutional positions and roles and occupations held by women and to monitor the use of the Italian language in the various fields.

The group was formed under the name "Gender, Language and Language Policy" will have a group on face book with the same name at:

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home # / group.php? gid = 3021b92090699

and now a blog called Language gender

http://linguaggiodigenere.blogspot.com

The group will work in coordination in the blog in four main areas:

1. cpo coordination and institutions

This group is designed to support the CPO that want to operate a clamping action within its own institution, to create a regional network of CPO as described by representatives cpo of Tuscany (the ladies here should help us to find the documentation). A first step within the government is to monitor the language of internal circulars and forms, pointing to the implementation of

joint ministerial directive of the Ministry of Government Administration and Equal Opportunities of 23/05/2007 on the "

steps to implement equal rights and opportunities between men and women in government . In Section 3, VI, and the resolution can be read, in fact, that one should " used in all the working papers [...] non-discriminatory language such as, for example, use the possible collective nouns or names that includes people of both genders "and in Note 4 to that point we refer to" Recommendations for the use of non-sexist language Italian "Alma Sabatini (1987). See the website of the Ministry for Equal Opportunities for the text of the Directive, a presentation of the aims of the Directive, and monitoring of the last two years:

http://www. pariopportunita.gov.it / index.php? option = com_content & view = article & id = 868 & Itemid = 175

A questo gruppo può far capo anche un interesse su quanto è considerato education or training in business or in general use, though not directly related to the school.

3. coordination media (radio-tele, newspapers, web)

This group will monitor the use of the language of communication of all kinds, from the more traditional print media, on television and in the most recent half the web that seems to have inherited most sexist in mass use in categorizing and indexing search engines.

4. door linguistic advice

This more than a group is providing advice for those who are not sure or what is the best way not to eliminate the presence of women in the communication message. This scheme should be readily available to anyone who wants to consult us and perhaps that we need a blog site that has over the other instruments. In this group blog can re-examine the priorities on which to make more pressure, so as to come with some few good rules to possibly use unambiguous advice to all media.

appearance already highly developed of subject librarian may be related to the coordination group mean (because the rating has to do with publishing, print and the computer network) or have a self-coordination. This decision can be made by colleagues working in the field that has emerged as the most advanced in the awareness of the problem.

How have witnessed the students attended, it is important to gender in the linguistic culture through research work at various levels (term papers, theses and dissertations three-year degree). You can indicate general topics especially in monitoring. In this sense, we can create evaluation grids to enforce the tThere, or whatever.

You can do research projects between universities and, last but by universities and colleagues of other cultures.

Grammar, the last bastion of machismo

Piero Ottone

from Friday to Feb. 5, 2010 Republic

Below is a reflection of our friends thought Giuliana Giusti, published in "thinking women" http://donnepensanti.ning.com/profiles/blogs/genere-lingua-italiana-e

gender, Italian language and sexism
on Friday of the Republic Feb. 5, I read with interest Fr 15
The grammar, the last bastion of male chauvinism in which Piero Ottone

points out a flaw in the use of the Italian language that seems to make women a kind difficult to use in certain contexts for certain speakers of Italian. Otto reported that an authoritative British magazine announces emphatically exceeded the United States of women in highly paid jobs, and note that, while in Italy you can not say the same, however many women holding important roles
(between the defects is also a virtue). These roles,
now no longer just for men, the results indicate whether a woman reported
so that, for example, to what he calls "gender
female mayors" it asks if you say "the mayor", "the mayor "or" mayoress "
while it seems that Hilary Clinton would have called" president "if he won the elections
. Brass does not say but I guess I have the same doubts hamletic on how to call
H. Clinton in his current charge, "the secretary" or "
secretary" of American States? Or maybe "the segretaressa?

then referred passion for motorcycles that seems to be more men and women, encouraging women to sit in the front seat and back. Further calls on women to react to another language issue,
more pervasive in everyday life (male and female) than is the

motorcycling, namely the male bastion consisting of the grammar.
